 Bastendorff Beach is a popular spot for surfers, kiters, and beachgoers, offering stunning, unobstructed ocean views. Located just off Cape Arago Highway, about 2 miles west of Charleston, it’s framed by Yoakam Point and the south jetty. Never crowded, this scenic beach is a must-visit for anyone who loves the coast.

Sunset Bay State Park

Sunset Bay Park offers stunning sandy beaches nestled beneath dramatic sea cliffs. A favorite for both locals and visitors, the park features tide pools, picnic areas, restrooms, and campgrounds. It's a perfect spot to enjoy the outdoors with easy access to beachcombing, birdwatching, swimming, and boating.

Cape Arago State Park

Located just below Shore Acres, a winding path leads to this secluded ocean cove. Here, you can witness crashing waves, migrating whales, and views of seals, sea lions, and other wildlife.

At the end of Cape Arago Highway, a short walk leads to a cove with tidepools and fossils to discover. Two trails offer scenic views of marine life and seal colonies (the north trail is closed from March–June). Picnic areas and restrooms are available.
